DIAGNOSTICS

Diagnostics

“Making the correct diagnosis is crucial to the success of your health journey."

As an Osteopathic & Integrative Health clinic, we use many tools to diagnose our patients correctly.  The osteopathic physicians in our practice has the amazing gift of being able to diagnose with their hands.  Not every physician has that ability.  It gives you, as the patient an extra level of reassurance in your diagnosis.
We also use conventional medical diagnostics like MRI, CT scan, Ultrasound or other imaging techniques, balanced with functional and integrative diagnostics like stool tests, saliva tests, and urine tests for things that most conventional labs do not run or accept as standard of care.  We also use conventional bloodwork.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

Stool Testing

Clinical microbiology plays a crucial role in individual and community health. Because most microbes living on or within the body are beneficial, distinguishing those that are disease producing is a critical function of a clinical microbiology laboratory. Stool tests combine advanced PCR & MALDI-TOF technology with traditional clinical microbiology to provide world-class diagnostic microbiology testing that helps you assess digestive and absorptive functions, detect pathogens or parasites and identify specific bacteria and yeast.
Please ask whether a stool test is right for you.

Saliva Testing

Hormones are powerful molecules essential for maintaining physical and mental health. An imbalance of any one hormone can throw your physical and mental health out of balance, causing aggravating and even serious health problems. We offer hormone test profiles in urine, saliva and blood. Often the best way to check some hormones (like estrogens, progesterone, cortisol and melatonin to name a few) is through salvia. There are many saliva testing kits and companies that we use depending on what we are trying to diagnose.

Blood Testing

Just like your other medical providers, we use bloodwork as a diagnostic tool.  We can measure thousands of things in the blood, including vitamins and minerals as well as thyroid hormones and markers of infection both acute and chronic.  The difference between your conventional medical provider and the healthcare providers at LCOIH, is that we look at bloodwork from an integrative perspective, which may be different than your conventional medical provider.

Urine Testing

You are probably familiar with urine testing to test for a urinary tract infection and pregnancy.  We do both of these in office, but urine testing can also be used for hormones and nutritional markers like vitamins and minerals.
We use multiple labs that we use urine testing for depending on what we are attempting to diagnose.
